Serving Opportunities

ADMINISTRATION - Help the pastoral team with a wide variety of office tasks from home or the church office. Below is a sampling of the many serving teams you can join.

  • Data Entry Team - You know the cards we encourage you to fill out each week? Each week after every service, we have a team input the attendance data in our computer system.   • Program Stuffers - Every Thursday Morning the weekend programs are assembled. If you have two hands and a willing heart, contact Carol Anderson at canderson@go2cornerstone.com or Lori at 674-8661 ext. 1050.
  • Work from Home - We have work we can send home with you occasionally. Stuffing envelopes, preparing mailers, and other little jobs. For more information contact Bill Aanestad at baanestad@go2cornerstone.com or 674-8661 ext. 1013
  • CD Duplication - If you have some free time during the week, we would love to get your assistance with duplication and mailing of sermon CD's. For more information, contact Jeff Rosen at jrosen@go2cornerstone.com or 674-8661 ext. 1009
  • Children's Ministry (administration) - Can you help with answering phones, assembling mailings, data entry, copying, reminder calls and follow ups for kids? If so, please contact Cynthia Gonzales at cgonzales@go2cornerstone.com or 674-8661 ext. 1039.
  • Web Site  - If you are experienced with any basic web design we would like to encourage you to be part of this growing team. There is content editing, modifications,  and more. ACTIVITY TABLES - With only 15 minutes of your time each month, you can serve at Cornerstone. Assist at one of the activity tables at the end of a service once a month. WOMEN'S MINISTRY KIOSK VOLUNTEER - With only 15 minutes of your time each month, you can serve at Cornerstone. CARE and SUPPORT - Cornerstone care ministries do just that, care for the people of Cornerstone. If you get special pleasure from meeting other's needs, you probably have the gifts required to serve in these areas.  

  • Prayer Support Ministry (Prayer Group) - We will mail you the weekly prayer requests. We ask that you pray daily in your own home for the needs listed. For more information, contact Pastor Dale Curtis at 674-8661 ext. 1017
  • Visitation Ministry - Make phone calls or home visits to those who have had an emergency, surgery or family crisis. For more information call Pastor Dale Curtis at 674-8661 ext. 1017or email dcurtis@go2cornerstone.com.
  • Card Ministry- Send cards of encouragement or sympathy or maybe for joyful events to those in need. For more information, contact Pastor Pastor Dale Curtis at 674-8661 ext. 1017or email dcurtis@go2cornerstone.com.
  • Marriage Preparation - Help to adequately prepare engaged couples for a life-long commitment to each other and to build a marriage based on biblical principles. Married couples can minister together Contact Pastor Jim at jphillips@go2cornerstone.com or 674-8661 ext 2005.
  • Helping Hands - Serving food to the homeless or making blankets for children or scarves for the homeless, clothing drives, food drives, blood drives, anything that allows us to use our gifts within our community.   • Women's Prison Outreach Ministry - Make a difference in a female inmate's life by visiting or writing to her in prison. Special training is provided. Contact Bridget LaPointe at blapointe@go2cornerstone.com or 674-8661 ext. 1014.
  • Prison Ministry Support Group & Prayer Meeting - This ministry for men and women provides support and encouragement to families who have loved ones that are in prison.  Join us on the last Monday of every month, at 7:00 pm in room #201.   • Celebrate Recovery - Celebrate God's healing power in our lives through a Bible based 12 step group. This experience allows people to make "changes" in their lives. If you have had or have hurts or hang-ups in your life, you can join our team on Friday evenings. For more information, contact Pastor Bill Aanestad at baanestad@go2cornerstone.com or 674-8661.
  • Divorce Care - There are probably not many people around you who understand the pain a divorce or separation can cause. Here a person finds support and understanding. Why not join this team of caring people. For information, contact Bill at baanestad@go2cornerstone.com or 674-8661.
  • Grief Care - Join the group of people who understand the feeling of deep hurt and wish to help. Provide encouragement to those during difficult times. For information, contact Bill at baanestad@go2cornerstone.com or 674-8661.
  • Other Care Groups - If you would like to be part of several teams designed to help those in need, we have a place for you. Help those in our VIP (Visually Impaired People) Team, Depression Care Ministry or Cancer Care Ministry. CHILDREN'S MINISTRY - We are excited to have a great, energetic volunteer team who serve our church by reaching out to our children. If you are interested in helping, please contact Joy Paul, Director of Children's Ministry, at 951-674-8661 ext. 1001. If you already volunteer and have children of your own in the K-5th grades, we offer Kid Zone, a children's activity room where they can relax, enjoy a snack, do a craft, play a game or watch a movie. Kid Zone is exclusively for those children who are at church for more than one hour with you who volunteer or attend an adult Bible study.

  •  Weekend Service - Greeters, check-in volunteers, helpers or teachers, set design, or part of the C-Kidz Worship team.
  • Mid-Week Programs - (Tuesday evenings Sept-May)
    Be part of a team helping with our Lady Bugs or Royal Rangers program. Designed to teach boys and girls from kindergarten to 5th grade.
  • Activity Tables - Answer general questions each weekend. It requires about 15 minutes of your time each month.
  • Supply Room and Decorating - We need help organizing and stocking for Children's Ministry.

  • Creative Arts Team - Help us prepare teaching segments for weekend services, mid-week services, VBS (vacation bible school) and other special events.

CONNECTIONS - "Life Groups," or Small Groups, provide a safe place for people to connect, grow and share. The great thing about Life Groups is that you can participate as well as serve. EARLY CHILDHOOD MINISTRY - The Early Childhood Ministry provides a warm and loving environment for children from birth to 5-years old. We have once-a-month and twice-a-month commitments available for those willing to serve. We pride ourselves on working with your schedule so it becomes easy to be part of our team.   • Cookie Delivery Ministry - By joining our cookie ministry, you will have the opportunity to welcome visitors and new people into the Cornerstone family by delivering a plate of cookies to their home.   • Cookie Ministry Assistants - We are looking for Assistant Coordinators to assist Esper Irish in the Cookie Delivery Ministry. This will involve a commitment of a few hours each week. Responsibilities include coordinating the ministry team in purchasing, wrapping, and delivery of cookies as well as some data entry. This is a terrific ministry opportunity.   • Food Service Prep - Do you enjoy working in the kitchen or setting up banquets and special events? MISSIONS - Cornerstone has many different opportunities to serve in the Missions Ministry. You can go on one of several Missions trips each year to different parts of the world, write a missionary, or participate in various projects in our community. PARKING MINISTRY
Parking Ministry volunteers serve at various parking lot and intersection locations around the church campus. All volunteers report to the Shift Leaders at the lower parking lot 30 minutes prior to the start of the service they are working. Each volunteer is preassigned to a workstation at that time. Before beginning to serve regularly in the ministry, all new volunteers are trained on traffic flow patterns, safety procedures, and job responsibilities at each specific workstation on campus.The Parking Ministry serves the Lord by efficiently directing the flow of traffic on the campus and by protecting the safety of church attendees. Parking volunteers are often the first impression for visitors and prospective members attending Cornerstone Church so the ministry always strives to serve with friendly, courteous attitudes that help to welcome our families/guests to Cornerstone.

There are two work shifts each weekend: Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings. Volunteers usually work 1 - 2 services a month before and after each service.

RECREATION MINISTRY - Are you into sports? Sometimes it's a whole lot easier to get involved at a new church or with new people in a recreational setting. At Cornerstone, we understand that some people need a more casual atmosphere to get involved. This ministry allows you to do just that. REFRESHMENT MINISTRY - Each weekend we prepare coffee, iced tea, soft drinks and bakery items to serve at several different weekend service venues.  There are opportunities to help prepare refreshments for the Singles, Alternative and Encore services. SCHOOL - If you enjoy loads of children and lots of activity, maybe you can use your talents best at the school. Cornerstone Christian School is home to almost 250 students during the traditional school year.

  • Heart to Heart Women's Event Ministry - This ministry plans, organizes, and orchestrates events and retreats for the women of Cornerstone.
